HOLA CHARLOTTE Breaks Maiden at Gulfstream Park Jan 24th, 2015

3rd-GP, $49,000, Msw, 1-24, 3yo, f, 6 1/2f, 1:18.37, ft.

HOLA CHARLOTTE (f, 3, Adios Charlie–Betsy Blue, by High Yield) closed belatedly into a slow pace to check in third in her six-furlong debut here Aug. 15 and added Lasix to run fifth after a wide trip going 5 1/2 panels Sept. 19. Given a brief respite following that effort, the bay was bet down to 3-1 from a 6-1 morning line for the always-capable Angel Penna barn. Away in good order, she established position chasing the leaders as heavily favored firster Vista Creek (Stormy Atlantic) and Gauche (Smart Strike) tussled through a quarter-mile in :22.72. Sent up to challenge for the lead while well in hand on the turn, Hola Charlotte drew clear readily and crossed the wire 3 1/2 lengths ahead of longshot Zena Rules (A.P. Warrior). Aurora Point (Malibu Moon), a half-sister to SW and GI Travers S. runner-up Rattlesnake Bridge (Tapit), completed the trifecta in her career debut. Sales History: $24,000 Ylg ’14 OBSAUG; $95,000 2yo ’15 OBSMAR. Lifetime Record: 3-1-0-1, $37,300.

O-Gallagher’s Stud; B-Michael T Beach (FL); T-Angel A. Penna, Jr.

A Colombo Bloodstock advised purchase.  Congratulations to Mrs. Brody and Mr. Penna on the win!
